The author is informing readers about the Holocaust through Hannah Stern's perspective. The theme of this book is telling you that if you argue about small things now, if you think back later, it isn't important. In this story, Hannah argues with her mother about having to memorize too much things about Hebrew and history for her Comfirmation. Later, she finds herself in a hard time, having to remember even more and harder things to keep herself alive in the Holocaust. It teaches her a lesson.0Vote!
