Passage

Passage

My favorite passage of this story is when "Chaya"(A name that Hannah was known as when she was still living in the schetl) starts to tell a tale about Hannah, before she was going into Lilith's Cave... then suddenly....she finds herself in the apartment, again, staring at the green doors in the apartment.

"...When the dark finally resolved itself, Hannah found she was looking across an empty hall at a green door marked 4N"..."There was a large table set with a white cloth. The table was piled high with food. Seven adults and a little blond boy were sitting there, their mouths opened expectantly."

The reason why this was my favorite passage in the story, even though it was towards the end, is because it was the climax of the story. It gives a definite ending of whether or not Hannah would return to New Rochelle, or not. It's also a happy passage, because she gets to come home to where the celebration was still going on with food and, especially, her family all waiting for her.
